Carl Zeiss Pty Ltd announces the expansion of the ZEISS O-INSPECT line to support customisation and flexibility in a wide range of measurement applications.
The ZEISS O-INSPECT multisensor measuring machine will now be available in multiple system sizes, configurations and options, offering users greater selection flexibility.
Christoph Stark, Product Manager at ZEISS explains that users seeking a contact optical measuring machine will now be able to choose from several sizes, load capacities and contact probes. They will be able to do so with increased dynamics and the option of adding a chromatic focus sensor at any time.
He adds that the expanded options will provide their customers with considerably greater flexibility when they select the right system for their specific requirements.
ZEISS O-INSPECT can be used for a wide range of applications including the measurement of dental implants, tiny vehicle parts and sensitive smartphone components. The ZEISS O-INSPECT camera sensor can be used for workpieces that are either too small or delicate, or when large quantities have to be measured. The contact sensor helps identify 3D characteristics while the chromatic focus sensor closes the gap between the contact and camera sensors.
Users of ZEISS O-INSPECT are no longer limited to two system sizes, helping them meet the more stringent requirements on measuring technology as well as increasingly shorter product cycles. For instance, the smallest model measures just 300x200x200 mm or a measuring range of 12 cubic decimetres while the next size up measures 500x400x300 mm or 60 cubic decimetres. An XXL model is available for large or heavy workpieces, or large pallets holding many parts, featuring a measuring range of 800x600x300 mm, or 144 cubic decimetres and designed to accommodate loads of up to 100 kilograms.
Users also experience great flexibility with the contact sensor: The ZEISS VAST XXT TL1 scanning probes feature minimal measuring forces and are therefore ideal for scanning sensitive workpieces such as components for camera lenses and thin-walled, injection-moulded plastic parts for smartphones, while the ZEISS VAST XXT TL3 can be used flexibly for larger workpieces.
In addition to numerous customisation options, the new ZEISS O-INSPECT product family also features considerably higher dynamics applying to both the travel speed in manual operations as well as CNC runs.
