Yokogawa Australia has won the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Southeast Asia and Australia New Zealand Distributed Control Systems Company of the Year Award.
The award acknowledges the success of Yokogowa’s Centum VP solution, which has been adopted across the Asia Pacific region, in both new installations and as a retrofit to legacy control systems.

Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Industrial Process Control Practice Research Analyst, Krishnan Ramanathan, said focus on newer technology has been a key to Yokogawa’s success in a market where contracts are offered based on stringent parameters set by end users in terms of quality, compatibility, testing, delivery, and services.
Ramanathan said Centum VP was the product of the Yokogawa’s ongoing research and development efforts. “End users are already beginning to see the benefits of Yokogawa’s DCS systems. This product has been developed to bring about better information visibility and operational agility.
“The award takes into consideration product innovation, its growing usage among end users and compatibility with existing systems. System migration is possible without major hassles and the control is enhanced in a very short time.”
Other parameters considered for the award are the DCS market share and the role Yokogawa has played in the region. This can be attributed to Yokogawa’s geographical presence in the South East Asia and ANZ markets.
“Frost & Sullivan recognises the growing role of the company and believes Yokogawa will continue to play a dominant role in the industry in the coming years,” Ramanathan said.
Yokogawa Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, John Hewitt, said the Frost & Sullivan Award was an acknowledgment of Yokogawa’s quest for excellence, and in particular its solution-based focus.
“Yokogawa aims to provide not only the best DCS and process control systems, but also to strive for the ultimate in terms of ease of integration, reliability and flexibility with the Centum VP system and our various user interfaces such as Fast/Tools which result in easy to use and intuitive control systems.”
