Russell Palmer has been appointed as Managing Director of Yokogawa Australia.
Palmer has been with Yokogawa Australia for 18 years and held roles from front line engineering sales to Sales & Marketing Director for Yokogawa Australia and New Zealand – a position he has held for 10 years.
Palmer has replaced John Hewitt who has been appointed as Managing Director of Yokogawa Engineering Asia. Hewitt was previously Managing Director for Yokogawa Australia from 2005-2015.
During this time, Hewitt saw the company in Australia grow from a small satellite business to a substantial industry player capable of simultaneously providing products and services to the four largest LNG projects seen in Australia.
He will be responsible for the countries stretching from India in the west to New Zealand in the east and Taiwan in the north.
When making the appointment, Hewitt said: “Russell is a highly regarded Australian Yokogawa employee with wide ranging local and overseas experience. Russell is known for his ability to think strategically and to grow a business. I am very confident that Russell will successfully guide Yokogawa Australia and maximise its future growth potential.”
Palmer acknowledged John Hewitt’s contribution to the company describing him as: “a successful MD who has left Yokogawa in great shape. John has been a personal mentor to me and I will be indebted to John for the guidance he has provided me over the past ten years.”
Both John Hewitt and Russell Palmer started in their new positions on April 1st this year.
