Woodside has signed a sales and purchase agreement with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) to supply up to 2.2 million tonnes of LNG for the next three years.
Starting from April, LNG will be delivered to KOGAS from previously uncommitted volumes at Woodside’s Pluto LNG plant.
The agreement is subject to obtaining necessary government approvals.
Woodside CEO Peter Coleman welcomed the agreement with KOGAS, stating that it demonstrated the company’s ability to supply LNG using flexible arrangements.
The LNG company’s existing Pluto LNG agreement with foundation buyers provide for LNG delivery of an ex-ship equivalent of around 3.25 million tonnes per annum, which is split between Kansai Electric, at 1.75 mtpa, and Tokyo Gas at 1.5 mtpa.
