Woodside finds new gas off Barrow Island

Woodside Petroleum have announced a new gas discovery off
the West Australian coast to the ASX this morning.

The Pyxis-1 exploration well has intersected 18.5 metres of
net gas in Jurassic sandstone 15 kilometres north of Barrow Island, with a
total depth of 3347 metres.

Woodside executive VP global exploration Philip Loader said
the new discovery had potential to be tied back to the existing Pluto infrastructure
thanks to the close location to Barrow Island, which lies in the WA-34-L
production licence.

Woodside Burrup is the operator and 90 per cent equity owner
of the licence, with the reminder held by Kansai Electric Power Australia and
Tokyo Gas Pluto.
