Wartsila Australia has appointed a new general manager of services sales — David L Trench — to cater for the growing importance the company places on services.
Trench will bring to Wartsila Australia a strong background in industry and technology, having worked in various capacities providing business integration and management advice to varied organizations, the company says.
Trench will now be responsible for services for the area bordered by Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia for the provision of solutions in the communication, transport, water, oil and gas, and, power industries.
In the past, Trench served in the Australian Army with the 10th Light Horse Regiment and has worked on projects ranging from power stations, alumina, gold, nickel and iron refineries, to Far Western China’s gas fields.
Trench began his technical career in the instrument and process control field, and has evolved his technical expertise into signal conditioning, control valves, data acquisition, process measurement, hazardous areas, systems development, MES and MIS solutions and SCADA applications, Wa¨rtsila¨ says.
Wartsila is a worldwide manufacturer of power plant equipment for ships propulsion and power generation systems.
