VP comes to Melbourne

The biannual Yokogawa Australasian User Group Conference will be held in Melbourne from May 20 — 22, 2008 at the Sebel Albert Park Hotel.

The event will see the local release of Yokogawa’s new CENTUM VP control system, which will feature prominently during the three days of keynote addresses, user papers, technical presentations and demonstration workshops.

Masatoshi Nakahara, head of Industrial Automation Systems Business and developer of CENTUM VP, will present a keynote address at the Conference.

The Conference will provide an opportunity for networking between users, and learning about technologies that will be applicable in each delegate’s own plant. Many sessions feature parallel conference streams so users can select sessions that suit their particular needs and interests.

Demonstration workshops will include close-up and in-depth looks at integrated safety systems and the techniques of partial stroke testing of safety control valves; wireless transmitters in mesh communications with CENTUM control systems; the new CENTUM VP operator interface; small SCADA systems; and a clinic on process information management systems where users can discuss issues and receive solution advice from the developers of Yokogawa’s Exaquantum PIMS system.
