Australian internet provider Vividwireless has launched a ‘plug and play’ modem which uses a wireless Internet connection as opposed to cable or DSL. After being bought by Optus in 2012, the company is now expanding its wireless internet services to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
The modem does not require any cables or access to a phone line, and is focused on Internet data rather than mobile phone services. Broadband speeds of up to 10Mbps can be reached, and the company offers an “unlimited downloads” plan.
