The Times Higher Education has released its World University Rankings 2016-2017, which rank the top 100 universities of various disciplines. Universities are judged based on their quality of teaching, international outlook, research, citations and industry income.
According to the rankings, the top ten universities for engineering and technology include:
1. California Institute of Technology, United States
2. Stanford University, United States
3. University of Oxford, United Kingdom
4. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States
5. University of Cambridge, United Kingdom
6. Princeton University, United States
=7. Imperial College London, United Kingdom
=7. National University of Singapore, Singapore
9. ETH Zurich – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland
10. University of California, Berkeley, United States
A number of Australian universities also made the top 100: Monash University (45), University of New South Wales (56), University of Melbourne (64), University of Queensland (68) and University of Sydney (83).
