Thiess selects Careers Australia as apprentice trainer

Thiess has selected Careers Australia to be its national apprenticeship training provider.

The contract will see CA provide training for around 120 mining apprentices in the diesel fitting, electrical, auto-electrical, and fabrication trades.

Sean Cummiskey, CA’s executive general manger, called the new apprenticeship agreement a significant milestone for the company.

“Thiess is an iconic brand with a long history of investing in their people…[its] commitment to developing the capability of its workforce aligns with our vision to design and deliver training programs tailored to our clients’ needs,” he said.

“This partnership is about working together to provide an excellence base for our apprentices so they are set up for a successful mining career,” Thiess Australian Mining general manager people and capability, Mark Vining, said.

“These apprentices are the future leaders of our business and we are committed to support them at every stage of their career journey.”
