Sullair’s Victorian facility, one year in the Australian market

Sullair has recently celebrated the first anniversary of the establishment of its Australian manufacturing facility, which services the domestic and Middle Eastern markets.

The plant is the youngest member of the company’s global network of compressor manufacturing facilities, complementing the company’s US, China and France operations.

Established in June, 2006 and located in Hallam, Victoria, Sullair Australia manufactures rotary screw compressors, designed and engineered for continuous operation in the hot, humid and dusty conditions experienced throughout Australia.

The Sullair brand is no stranger to the Australian compressed air market, having established a strong presence in the mining, exploration drilling, construction and general manufacturing sectors over the past three decades. Until the establishment of the Australian manufacturing facility, the company had been exporting compressors from its overseas facilities, modified to suit Australian conditions.

According to Sullair Australia Design Engineer, Simon Mullins, the reliability of Sullair products has become legendary within Australia’s heavy industrial sectors, with many of the units imported in the 1970s still running today. “Our strategic edge is that we understand the demanding requirements of the hot harsh environments experienced by our local Australian industry, so we’re the best placed to provide customised compressed air solutions,” said Mullins.

Low noise, compliance with high safety and environmental standards, and the ability to operate trouble-free in dusty and hot environments, Mullins says, are the specific requirements of the Australian market. For technical enquiries, Mullins can be contacted at smullins@sullair.com.au
