Southern Cross Electrical win Sino Iron contract

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering wins electrical instrumentation contract at CITIC Pacific’s Sino Iron mine.

The contract, valued at more than $10 million, will see SCEE provide electrical and instrumentation at Cape Preston.

Scope of the work includes E&I installation, testing, and commissioning of grinding mills at concentrate processing lines 3,4,5 and 6.

The work will be carried out as a subcontractor to Kerman Contracting, which was awarded a $146 million contract for the mills late last month.

“We are delighted to be returning to work on the Sino Iron project where we successfully completed the E&I work on the previous phase of development,” SCEE managing director Simon High said.
