Southern Cross Electric wins additional Rio Tinto contract

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) has won further electrical and instrumentation works at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Port B project.

It was awarded an initial contract at Cape Lambert, worth around $100 million, in late 2012, with a new contract focused on the Phase 1 package for Cape Lambert Port B awarded earlier this year.

This new contract is worth approximately $40 million.

It takes the form of variations to the previously awarded Phase 1 package for the site’s car dumpers and screenhouse, covers the balance of works, and brings the total value of work at the site to $80 million.
