SkillsTech Australia has opened its $25 million Engineering Trade Building at the Acacia Ridge Training Centre in Queensland.
The 8000 square-metre Engineering Trade Building offers flexible delivery workshops, 18 classrooms, two purpose-built laboratories and several workshop areas.
The facility will be home to engineering trades, including fabrication trades in boilermaking, welding and sheetmetal work, mechanical trades in machining, diesel fitting, and fitting and turning, and Advanced Diploma engineering courses.
“More than 1000 students at any one time can be catered for within the state-of-the-art facility," said SkillsTech Australia Institute Director Mary Campbell.
The new building offers technology enhanced instruction, simulators, a modern learning environment and sustainable design initiatives.
SkillsTech Australia is Queensland's largest TAFE institute dedicated to trade and technician training in automotive, building and construction, electrotechnology, manufacturing and engineering, sustainable technologies and water.
