Single output 5000W power supply launched

ADM Instrument Engineering announces the release of the Mean Well 5000W RST-5000 power supplies designed to meet the need for higher power in industrial applications.

The new single output 5000W RST-5000 series features Mean Well’s built-in active PFC function and accepts a wide range of 3-phase AC inputs (3Φ 3-wire/△ 196~305VAC or 3Φ 4-wire/ Y 340~530VAC), along with output options of 24VDC or 48VDC, making the power supply suitable for diverse industrial applications.

The adjustable output voltage and output current in the RST-5000 series allows greater flexibility. Output voltage can be trimmed between 20~120% of the rated voltage using a 1~6VDC external control signal, while output current can be trimmed between 20~100% of the rated current by a 1~5VDC external control signal.

Key features of the Mean Well RST-5000 series power supplies include new generation circuit topology delivering high efficiency rating of up to 91%; built-in fan to allow full load output in environments with ambient temperatures of up to 50°C; up to three of the RST-5000s can be used in parallel to provide a total output of up to 15000W; two overload protection systems; continuous constant current limiting mode and constant current limiting, with delay shutdown after 5 seconds; with both modes working with various types of severe load including inductive load, capacitive load or battery charging.

The Mean Well RST-5000 series also offers remote sense function; remote ON/OFF control; 12V/0.1A auxiliary power for running a fan, sensor or other device; and alarm signal output (both relay contact and open collector signal) for AC fail, DC OK, fan fail and over temperature protection. Compliant with international safety standards such as UL, CUL, and TUV, RST-5000 is supplied through ADM complete with C-Tick approval.

The RST-5000 power supply is backed by Mean Well’s 5-year warranty.
