Seqwater and Ferret top Hitwise most popular website awards

Results of Hitwise’s most popular Australian websites for 2008 across 100 industries have named Reed Business Information’s Ferret search facility, manufacturer Toyota and utilities provider Seqwater as three of the most visited websites for the year.

Taking out top honours for the most popular automotive manufacturer website was Toyota — a first for the car-maker.

Topping the list of most visited food and beverage manufacturing websites was Coles, with the manufacturing and industrial utilities website of the year nabbed by service provider Queensland Bulk Water Supply Authority, or Seqwater.

Reed Business Information’s Ferret which serves as a search engine for manufacturing and industrial news and company information took out top honours in the manufacturing and industrial business and finance sector.

The Hitwise Australia Online Performance Awards celebrates the most successful Australian websites in over 100 industries based on the market share of visits a website has received throughout 2008.
