SAGE Automation has acquired the automation and controls division of West Australian based Wellard Technologies. This acquisition creates a nationwide presence for SAGE.
SAGE CEO Adrian Fahey (pictured alongside) said the acquisition of Perth based Wellard Technologies completed a long term goal of SAGE Automation to have operations across Australia.
"Having operations and resources in all Australian States and the Northern Territory will not only provide benefits to our nationally based customers, but will also provide additional opportunities and experiences for our employees," he said.
"Wellard Technologies has valuable expertise and experience in working within the mining sector, which we see as a strong growth area for SAGE in the future.
"Wellard Technology’s customers will benefit from SAGE’s expertise and knowledge from working in a variety of industries including Defence, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Mining and Utilities," added Fahey.
SAGE Automation specialises in the design, construction, installation and support of industrial automation and control systems and is Australia’s largest independent industrial automation and control systems integration company.
The company will now have almost 300 employees and expected annual turnover this year of around $65 million. A dedicated transition team is in place with an execution plan currently being implemented to ensure a smooth transition.
All ten full time automation employees working with Wellard Technologies will now become SAGE employees.
"Bringing this business into our organisation will further strengthen our brand," said Fahey. "Over the past few months we have been impressed with their commitment to delivering high quality customer service, employing great people and delivering certainty to their customers.
"Being able to offer expertise and on ground support across Australia will help grow our business and most importantly, enable our valued clients to meet their future requirements," said Fahey.
