Customers attending the Rockwell Automation On Tour ’09 event during April can attend their choice of five workshops that allow them to work directly with Rockwell’s product and software solutions for the process and control industry.
The hands-on technology seminars include one focusing on process device configuration and calibration using Rockwell FactoryTalk AssetCentre, where attendees will use a single software environment to configure, monitor and calibrate smart process instrumentation. This solution was developed in partnership with Endress+Hauser.
The other workshops will focus on broader aspects of the automation giant’s Integrated Architecture products. Founded on the multi-disciplinary Logix control platform, and the FactoryTalk integrated production and performance software suite, Integrated Architecture provides complete control and information integration throughout the whole enterprise, according to Rockwell.
Workshops include ‘Integrated architecture – putting the pieces together’ and ‘Advanced Logix programming’; plus safety control workshops entitled ‘Introduction to GuardLogix’ and ‘Interfacing GuardLogix with AC drives featuring safe-off’.
“Hands-on workshops allow automation specialists to explore the latest trends in control technology, and gain insight into how they can be applied on the plant floor,” said Rockwell Automation commercial programs manager, Phillip Prout.
“The labs at On Tour ‘09 will be designed for users to experience the full breadth of sophisticated functionality of our solutions, along with the benefits of an integrated approach to control.”
The workshop sessions at On Tour ‘09 will operate as concurrent streams run by Rockwell Automation specialists, repeated on each day of the event. The roadshow kicks-off in Melbourne on 28-29 April, and progresses to Sydney (26-27 May), Adelaide (10-11 June), Perth (30 June), Brisbane (21-22 July) and Auckland (18-19 August).
