Rockwell Automation has announced that the first in its series of On Tour ‘09 events — at the Melbourne Park Function Centre on 28th and 29th April — was “kicked-off successfully” and will now move on to Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland.
The two-day show features a stream of Technology Trends seminars held by technology experts, along with hands-on workshops, and a display of Rockwell Automation’s latest solutions in the New Product Pavilion.
The event was developed to showcase the company’s portfolio of process automation solutions and services.
At the Melbourne event, Douglas Bellin of Cisco Systems spoke on ‘Using technology to support manufacturing trends and directions’. He expounded his vision for the future integration of manufacturing information and control systems with other business communication networks, to ensure that ‘the right person has access to the right information, at the right time, in the right format’ in order to streamline processes.
Other seminars included Clyde Campbell of Machinery Automation and Robotics, who delivered a presentation on ‘Trends in materials handling’, and John Immelman of Endress & Hauser Australia, who spoke on ‘Plug and play with process instrumentation using FDT/DTM’.
Visitors to the On Tour ‘09 event were also offered the choice of six different workshops, providing an opportunity to work directly with Rockwell Automation’s Integrated Architecture products and software. These included a new workshop focusing on ‘FactoryTalk AssetCentre test drive’.
The roadshow will now progress to Sydney (26-27 May), Adelaide (10-11 June), Perth (30 June), Brisbane (21-22 July) and Auckland (18-19 August).
