Renewed optimism in mining and new water projects boost Profibus training enrolments

Advance enrolments in Certified Profibus training courses scheduled for Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane in May this year are nearing the boom figures recorded in 2011 claims Profibus Australia.

Strong interest from Western Australian mining companies signals a return of confidence and a renewed optimism not seen since the slump in commodity prices witnessed mid-2012.

Once again, enrolments from the Water Corporation of WA dominate other process industries, reflecting their commitment to be at the highest level of readiness as Stage 2 of their Southern Seawater Desalination Plant enters the final commissioning phase.

“We believe the large number of graduates that have passed through our Certified Training classes over the last two years coupled with the trend toward smarter process plants is changing perceptions within the automation industry,” commented PAA chairman Rafael Koenig.

“The enquiries we are receiving from newcomers and Profibus end-users for training, product availability and technical assistance are definitely increasing each year. The PAA and PICC is the largest industry support group within Australia, so we are more than happy to help out,” he added.

UK Profibus trainer Andy Verwer will commence his four-week Australian Tour in Perth from 29 April to 10 May.

Additional classes for Certified Installer, Certified Engineer, Commissioning and Maintenance and System Design are scheduled for Melbourne, Brisbane and Mackay throughout May.
