QUADRAN 365 UV-A inspection lamp delivers best of both worlds

Spectronics Corporation introduces a new range of dual-intensity UV-A lamps delivering the best of both worlds for NDT inspections.

The new QUADRAN 365 Series lamps feature a high-intensity setting as well as standard-intensity UV-A output setting, in addition to a convenient high-and-low white light brightness setting. This choice of settings allows the NDT practitioner to easily adjust the UV-A intensity for fluorescent inspection and the white light for flaw location, according to the specific requirements of the job.

The QUADRAN 365 lamp’s high intensity setting produces a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of up to 8,000 µW/cm² while the standard setting produces a nominal steady-state intensity of 4,500 µW/cm² (both measured at 38cm). Some models also include a faceplate with integral black light filters covering the UV-A LEDs to further reduce the emission of wavelengths longer than 400 nm. The white light LED’s high setting is 300 foot-candles (3,229 lux) and its low setting is 10 foot-candles (108 lux).

With its broad-beam configuration, the QUADRAN 365 produces an extremely wide coverage area of up to 15cm, with a minimum UV-A intensity of 2,000 µW/cm² at 38cm, making the UV-A lamp the ideal choice for both handheld and in-line inspection applications.

QUADRAN 365 Series lamps are available from Spectronics Corporation’s longstanding Australian distributor, Russell Fraser Sales.
