Profibus Training 2012: Users to pick locations

UK trainer Andy Verwer returns to Australia in May 2012 to conduct a series of Certified Profibus Training courses accredited by Profibus and Profinet International.

The growth of Profibus around the world can be attributed to its ability to reduce costs over a plant’s entire lifecycle.

Plant engineers require the practical instruction and knowledge gained through Certified Installer and Engineer courses to troubleshoot and address network issues that may arise.

In May, Verwer will return to Australia for his eleventh visit to conduct training courses in Perth and two additional cities (the venues and dates of which are still to be determined).

Courses will include Certified Profibus Installer; Certified Profibus Engineer; Commissioning & Maintenance and Control System Design.

The most recent addition to Andy Verwer’s Training schedule is the ‘Control System Design’ course which provides practical instruction on how the knowledge gained through the Certified Installer and Certified Engineering courses can be successfully integrated into Control System Design.

The hands-on Certified Profibus Installer Course is an internationally-accredited, one-day course and covers the layout, installation and testing of Profibus DP and PA networks.

Course intake is limited to 12 people per group and is suitable for all engineers and technicians involved in the planning and installation of fieldbus networks. The course focuses on Profibus and no previous knowledge of fieldbus systems is required.

The one-day Commissioning and Maintenance course teaches students how to use a modern Class 1 / 2 master, analyser and oscilloscope to commission and verify devices, and to health check working networks. The Installer course must be completed before undertaking this course.

The three-day Certified Profibus Engineer Course is the flagship qualification from Profibus International. It covers the detailed operation of Profibus networks and includes all aspects of the DP and PA protocols (DPV0 and DPV1).

The certified Installer course, and the Commissioning and Maintenance courses are pre-requisites for the Engineers course.
