ABB’s instrumentation group is inviting customers to attend a series of launches on October 30th and 31st in Melbourne for its new range of WaterMaster flowmeters, targeted at the water, waste water and sewage markets.

Three launch events will be held in honour of the new product which is said to assist water companies to operate more efficiently, reduce costs and increase profitability.

During these launch events, ABB’s product experts will be on hand to demonstrate the advanced features and functionality that will provide superior measurement capabilities.

“This will be a great opportunity to discuss your specific applications in depth and learn how users can operate more efficiently, reduce costs and increase profitability,” says ABB.

The WaterMaster key features include: available in the most commonly installed flowmeter sizes: 40 – 300mm; incorporates an innovative octagonal sensor design, improving flow profile and reduces up and down stream piping requirements; and all WaterMaster sensors have a rugged, robust construction to ensure a long, maintenance-free life under the most difficult conditions, the sensors are inherently submersible (IP68,) as standard.

In the field, WaterMaster incorporates many operator focused features, says the company.

The backlit, graphical display and “Through-the-glass” control allows local operator interface to input short, quick data for all user specific parameters. In addition, the universal ABB Human Machine Interface (HMI) simplifies operation, maintenance and training. Also, Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) gives improved performance and enables real time measurements for maximum reliability.

The event locations and times are as follows:

* Thursday 30th October, 7-9am, The Palladium at Crown, Whiteman Street, Southbank. Breakfast included.

* Thursday 30th October, 12-2pm, ABB, 601 Blackburn Road, Notting Hill. Lunch included.
