Anglo Coal – Gas Gathering & Delivery System
Bowen Basin, QLD
Anglo Coal Australia is one of Australia’s leading coal producers. The Moranbah North Mine (MNM) is located in the northern part of Queensland’s Bowen Basin. In preparation for the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS), Anglo Coal Australia (ACA) is de-gassing the coal field and using the methane to feed a 45 Megawatt power station.
Implementing a new SCADA system throughout the mine was necessary to monitor and control all aspects of the gas collection and distribution process. Early detection of faults or performance issues at key points in the gas network, minimising operational downtime, improving equipment reliability, standards compliance and customer service were all key elements to the design and implementation of this system. Parasyn’s role was turnkey project delivery including the design and supply of control panels, all software development, and to ensure all sites were commissioned and operational within the required deployment schedules.
