PAA launches Certified PROFINET training in Australia and New Zealand

Profibus Australia will introduce a series of 3 day Certified PROFINET Training courses throughout Australia and Auckland, New Zealand, in November this year.

The demand for specialised training from Profinet end-users engaged in iron ore and gas processing operations, plus factory automation applications in food and beverage, has risen dramatically over the last three years.

PROFINET is an Industrial Ethernet Standard used extensively in factory and process automation applications enabling machines and devices to talk to each other predominantly in industrial and manufacturing environments.

The Certified Profinet course is accredited by Profibus International and designed to provide students with a technical understanding of the communication protocol and a hands-on experience, through demonstrations and practical exercises.

The content of the course will review the Ethernet basics; Network Infrastructure; Profinet IO – configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting; device replacement; and address the real life advantages Profinet offers automation and production processes.

At the completion of the course students are required to sit for an exam combining theory and practical content, in order to gain their PI approved accreditation.

Successful students will be issued with a Certificate signifying their Certified accreditation and have their names listed on the PI and Australian Graduate Honour Rolls.

Upon graduation, students possess the technical knowledge required to evaluate the scope of Profinet’s functionality and determine the suitability for their own automation requirements.

Profibus Australia recently hosted a Technical Seminar titled: ‘Understanding PROFINET: The Leading Industrial Ethernet Standard’ in Sydney.
