OEM Technology Solutions has received two major awards for its PC3 programmable controller at the annual Sydney Division of the Engineering Excellence Awards.
The company’s newest technology design — the PC3 programmable controller — was given the top prize in the Control Systems and Communications category at the awards as well as securing a highly commended in a second category — Software and Embedded Systems.
The year’s awards, held in September last year, were one of the most competitive of its 73-year-history, with more than 87 entries, according to the organisers — Engineers Australia.
“The win was a fantastic commendation for the hard work the OEM team has done in developing this new technology,” said OEM managing director, Richard Gobee.
“And it is in keeping with the theme of Engineering Australia this year — the Year of the Engineering Team because it was truly a collaborative effort.
“It is an honour to be recognised by the wider engineering community and shows that an Australian owned company like ours is leading the world in this type of technology.”
The award-winning PC3 series programmable controller is designed as a “one-stop answer” to various industrial computer applications.
It has already been installed in some tricky applications and users find it simple to use and flexible, the company said.
A single board application, the PC3 is the third generation of the controller developed by OEM Technology Solutions Pty Ltd. Clients who used the PC1 and PC2 series are applauding the latest incarnation, says the manufacturer.
“Where the PC3 is unique is that normally in a single board computer there is a fixed number of inputs and outputs. The PC3 has been designed to have a series of smaller boards that interlock in whatever configuration you want and then that is enclosed in an aluminium case for each application,” said Gobee.
“The cards can be swapped and changed to suit the requirements of the client.”
