NMW 2011 ended on a high note, with organisers Reed Exhibitions announcing an increase of over 25% in visitor attendance and positive exhibitor outcomes for the combined NMW, Austech and Ausplas event. Reed has announced dates for NMW 2012 – May 8-11 at Sydney Olympic Park. More than 25% of available floorspace has been already been allocated.
While figures for NMW 2011 are yet to be audited, the initial statistics are that the Melbourne show attracted over 13,000 Australian and international attendees.
Visitors included both business owners and shop floor workers. Nearly 25% of attendees were directors/CEOs or equivalent, while over 14% were engineers and more than 6% were tradespersons, supervisors/leading hands/factory floor managers or equivalent.
Many of Australia’s largest buyers, including from the government and the private sectors, visited the show.
Exhibitors commented that the real strength of NMW was its ability to attract ‘the right people’ – the ones with real influence over the buying decision.
Pferd’s State Sales Manager (VIC/TAS), David Galloway comments, “By the end of NMW we’d tracked more than 50 serious leads from across Australia – that is, people interested in having a Pferd rep book in a demonstration of our market-leading abrasives range.”
Benjamin de Leon, Managing Director, AutoFast Australia Pty Ltd adds, “NMW certainly exceeded our expectations. From day one of the show, we started getting good leads, and the number kept growing over the following days. There’s a very good chance that the leads we’ve got could generate huge sales over the next year. “
