New Outotec director to look after automation, flotation

Outotec has appointed a new director to oversee its Australian business; Andrew Okely brings with him “extensive experience” in some of the world’s major mining projects, according to an Outotec press release.

Okely will become part of Outotec’s Australian Management Team, taking responsibility for all aspects of the company’s minerals processing technology sales and marketing for the Asia Pacific region.

These responsibilities include Outotec’s grinding, flotation, thickening, automation and physical separation technologies.

Outotec Australia managing director, Neil Jagger, said Okely will bring extensive experience to the position.

Okely joined Outotec in 1995 and has been involved in the selection of technology for major projects throughout Australasia and Asia.

“Andrew’s direct experience on many leading mineral processing projects complements his expertise in key areas of Outotec technology. His appointment brings customers extensive first-hand experience in extracting optimum value from the advanced and efficient technologies in which Outotec is world leader,” said Jagger.

In his previous roles, including the role of manager for the minerals processing technologies division in Australia, Okely has led teams delivering advanced technology solutions for companies including BHPB, Xstrata (MIM), WMC, Newcrest, Anglo Gold and other industry leaders, said Jagger.
