My Skills website to help employers and students

Students and employers will be able to use the Australian Government's new My Skills website to find information on around 5,000 training organisations.

The new site will continue to have new functions and data added to it as they become available.

The first phase of My Skills will allow students and employers to search and view information on around 5,000 registered training organisations and around 4,900 nationally recognised qualifications and accredited courses.

The next phase of My Skills is proposed to be released early next year and will include information provided by training organisations on campus location information and the courses they offer.

With the introduction of this information users will be able to search for training being delivered in their local area.

The service currently offers information that includes:

  • Nationally recognised training and approved training organisations;
  • Statistical and descriptive information for training organisations that delivered publicly funded training in 2011;
  • Training organisation contact details and links to more details on courses offered and locations; and
  • Links to career, study assistance and other information.

Once it is fully implemented, My Skills will provide information about vocational education and training to future and current students, jobseekers and employers to help them make informed choices about training.

The development of My Skills is part of the transparency agenda set out in the National Partnership Agreement on Skills Reform between the Commonwealth and the states and territories.
