Mitsubishi Electric is in talks with ICONICS, its partner in iQ Platform automation solutions. The two companies will team up to better target the infrastructure development market.
The plan is to fully integrate ICONICS’ SCADA software with Mitsubishi Electric’s controllers and engineering software. The iQ Platform brand will target process industries, energy-saving and monitoring systems, and the global infrastructure market.
As a supplier of industrial automation equipment, Mitsubishi Electric’s current market covers solutions to enhance production efficiency in fields including LCD panel and semiconductor manufacture, food and beverage production and automobile assembly.
With the new SCADA capabilities, Mitsubishi intends to pursue infrastructure development opportunities, particularly in emerging markets. Target sectors are energy management and control solutions for water treatment facilities, commercial buildings, airports, subways and other facilities.
