Michael Donnelly: Industry loses a veteran

Michael Donnelly of Temperature Controls passed away on October 31, 2013. He was 66 years old.

Michael had been in the Instrumentation market for around 40 years.

During this time he worked at a number of Australian manufacturing companies and was NSW Sales Manager of both Dobbie Instruments, (now WIKA), Ansett Technologies.

This was followed in 1990, by his greatest accomplishment – becoming part owner/ sales director of Temperature Controls.

The company currently employs 41 people manufacturing temperature sensors and associated products in Australia with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Michael was a avid supporter of all sectors in the Australian instrumentation market, from IICA membership to networking at Technology Expos and open nights.

At TAFE colleges, Michael often delivered talks on how temperature sensors are made.

He also invited TAFE Instrumentation students to visit the company's manufacturing facilities and educated them on how temperature sensors are made.

Michael was also an enthusiastic member of the IICA for the past 10 ten years and blessed with a keen sense of humour. He will be missed in our industry.
