Lattice Semiconductor has announced its new iCE40 UltraPlus FPGA devices, which are energy-efficient and programmable mobile heterogeneous computing (MHC) solutions. This latest addition to the iCE40 Ultra family delivers eight times more memory (1.1Mbit RAM), twice the digital signal processors (8x DSPs), and improved I/Os over previous generations. Available in multiple package sizes, the programmable nature of the devices makes them suitable for smartphones, wearables, drones, 360 cameras, human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and industrial automation, as well as security and surveillance products.

Key features:

  • Integrated 1.1Mb SRAM, 8 DSP blocks, up to 5K LUTs and Non-Volatile Configuration Memory (NVCM) for instant-on applications
  • MIPI-I3C support for low-resolution, always-on camera applications
  • Sub 100 micro watts of standby power consumption
  • Compact form factor with package sizes starting as low as 2.15 x 2.55mm for space-constrained consumer markets
  • QFN package suitable for addressing industrial market needs
  • Ideal for critical low-latency acceleration functions
