MathWorks organises virtual engineering conference

MathWorks is organising an Academic Virtual Conference on Tuesday May 11, 2010. The sessions commence at 2:00 pm (AEST) and are repeated through the day. Jim Tung, MathWorks Fellow, discusses the challenges and opportunities for academia to attract, motivate and prepare the next generation of engineers.

The conference will showcase real-world teaching examples from academics using MATLAB and Simulink to inspire learning and advance education in engineering, science, and mathematics. At the MathWorks Academic Virtual Conference, attendees can: Share ideas with colleagues worldwide; Collaborate on challenges facing today’s educators; Learn the latest tips and tricks; Build their professional network.

The exhibit hall features virtual booths hosted by MathWorks and academic partners. Participants can visit these booths to learn more about the tools and technologies behind the latest MathWorks product release. They can also download white papers, product literature, and brochures; view product demonstrations; and communicate with booth staff to get answers to technical questions.

The conference lounge offers visitors the opportunity to chat with colleagues about their latest project, share solutions to common problems, and build their professional network.
