Maser Communications (Australia) has supplied a series of specialist steel wire armoured cables to a Queensland Oil Refinery.
According to Maser, after suffering through issues associated with cable degradation, the end-user outlined its requirements for a robust cable construction and Maser suggested a steel wire armoured solution that would provide the necessary mechanical protection.
“The Australian market has become accustomed to steel wire armoured cables being available locally for instrumentation, power and control applications,” said Maser projects and contracts manager, Greg Terry.
“When it comes to requirements outside this common group, the market perception is that solutions are only available on long lead-times or with excessive MOQ’s. This is not the case at all and in many instances Maser are supplying as little as 305 metres within 2 weeks for common protocols including Category 5e, Category 6 and RS-485, right through to industrial protocols like Fieldbus, Profibus and Devicenet.”
