Madison Technologies is marketing its Cybertec Series 1000 product range of industrial 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) modem/routers for use on 3G cellular networks such as the Telstra Next G network, which uses packet switched calling.
According to Madison Technologies, using packet switched data to access the mobile internet is considerably faster and more cost-effective than a circuit switched data call.
All models in the Series 1000 range provide broadband performance and support download data rates of up to 3.6Mbps and upload data rates of up to 384kbps, says Madison Technologies.
According to Madison Technologies, its industrial 3G and satellite router/modem product range is an alternative to circuit data switched (CSD
) calls; Telstra is shutting down its CSD system in May.
