Emerson Process Management’s investment in energy responsible technology will be part of their upcoming products, the company announced at the ARC Forum in Orlando, USA.
These new products include the Ovation SCADA software for wind energy management, their energy responsible Fisher C1 controllers and transmitters (oil and gas), as well as Rosemount’s technology for boiler and furnace operation improvement -AccuMax- and thermocouples for gasification applications.
“The “World Wind Energy Association expects total installed capacity for wind energy to grow from roughly 74,000 MW in 2006 to 160,000 MW in 2010 — and increase of more than 116 percent. The new software helps to efficiently manage the growing assets of individual wind farms or entire fleets,” the company said. Their alternative fuels projects include wind and hydropower, but also biofuels such as bio-ethanol, biodiesel and synfuels.
Emerson also said that their Fisher C1 controllers can save up to A$1563 of gas annually, as well as decrease natural gas lost to the atmosphere -and therefore, reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
