Invensys Operations Management announced an alliance with Microsoft for migrating Invensys MES, OMS, Historian and SCADA applications to the Windows Azure cloud.
By bringing together industrial thought and technology leaders, the alliance expands the company’s continuing relationship with Microsoft and will afford end users cloud-based offerings in the mining, oil & gas and power generation operations space.

The benefit of a cloud- based operations management solutions lies in the availability of real-time operations information and reports, from globally dispersed locations, in the exact format required. This information can be viewed on any device from a laptop to a smartphone or tablet based device.
Within the alliance, Microsoft will also help Invensys accelerate the development of its new Wonderware Historian and Workflow applications to enable them to run on the Windows Azure cloud.
