The FDT Group’s recent participation at main industry events in Europe further promotes their message about proven interoperability.
At Hannover Messe/Interkama+, held in Hanover, Germany, the group had a large booth with 22 participating member companies (ABB, Bosch Rexroth, Endress+Hauser, Flowserve, ifak system, Invensys, Krohne, KW-Software, Metso Automation, MTL, Omron, PACTware Consortium, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell Automation, Samson, Schneider Electric, Sick, SMAR, Turck, VEGA, and Yokogawa).
Proven interoperability was the main message at this year’s FDT booth, The Interoperability demonstration consisting of three multi-vendor applications, two of them for Process Automation and one for Factory Automation highlighted the show.
The Process Automation demos included about 90 devices in total, connected to ten Frame Applications
of ABB, Endress+Hauser, Flowserve, ifak system, Invensys, Metso Automation, PACTware, Rockwell Automation, SMAR, and Yokogawa. Individual systems could access the devices online, display the same native graphic interfaces, change parameters, and acquire data. For Factory Automation the FDT interoperability was shown through a demo wall composed of almost 30 devices from 7 different suppliers (Bosch Rexroth, Omron, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Schneider Electric, Sick, and Turck) connected to 4 PLC systems.
In the DTM development and certification area of the booth, ifak system explained the process of creating, testing, and certifying DTMs and demonstrated some of the tools available to support companies in DTM development. Additionally, there was a Test & Certification area providing more information on the benefits of
DTM certification and future frame certification.
The FDT Group also succeeded in gathering 150 participants in total, including more than 60 end users, at the two recent roadshows that took place in Nyborg, Denmark, and Gothenburg, Sweden.
