Some 24 media, industry and business organisations are backing this year’s National Manufacturing Week (NMW), co-located with Austech, held on May 8 – 11 at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
On the business side, NMW sponsors including Sullair, Nord, ROM-Control, Permatex, Microsoft/Professional Advantage, Bestech and Kemppi are investing in landmark exhibits to draw attention to new products and services.
Sullair is tailoring its installation to showcase compressed-air technologies for manufacturing operations. Marcoms Manager at Sullair, Kellie Smith says, “Sullair has had a long association with NMW – and we’re excited to be sponsoring NMW 2012. There’s a buzz about exhibiting in Sydney: Olympic Park is a great facility, and we’ll be taking the opportunity to show industry our premium range of fixed products.”
Bestech is sponsoring the Process Control & Instrumentation Zone to announce its expanded range of measurement and control technologies.
Bestech’s Managing Director, Sam Bhasin says, “Bestech has grown significantly since we were last at NMW – and this year we want to broadcast that fact. We are bringing in some ‘firsts’, including a new laser capable of very fast, high precision measurement that will help us offer impressive demonstrations to NMW visitors.”
Several of NMW’s 12 Product Zones also have a Zone Partner –an association relevant to the industry sector that is partnering with NMW on behalf of its entire industry. For instance, the Australian Foundry Institute – partnering the Engineering Zone – will provide its foundry members a group opportunity to showcase their castings capabilities.
NMW’s line-up of business and industry supporters is complemented by media interest in the show, spearheaded by Manufacturers Monthly (sister publication to PACE) as official Media Partner of NMW 2012.

NMW 2012 Exhibition Director, Paul Baker, comments: “I’m delighted to welcome these organisations – each a leader in their field – as sponsors and partners of NMW 2012.”
“With their support, we are reaching out to manufacturing industry across the world, inviting them to come to NMW and see the latest technologies, hear new ideas, make new contacts and share strategies for best manufacturing practice.”
NMW is on track to be sold out within coming weeks, with more than 450 companies having confirmed their participation.
When last held in Sydney – in 2010 – NMW attracted some 10,000 industry visitors, including a high percentage of business decision makers. Baker comments that early interest suggests this year’s event will be equally strong.
This year’s event will also feature the one-day NMW 2012 Conference (Wednesday, May 9), a closed-door forum at which industry and other experts will present tips, tools and strategies for addressing manufacturing’s big issues: such as boosting productivity, sustainability and innovation.
Details of the conference and other partner events – including the Western Sydney Manufacturing Leaders Forum, Enterprise Connect Breakfast Seminar and Manufacturers Connection Sustainability Forum – are available at www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au
Visitors to the site can also pre-register to attend NMW 2012. Registration is free, and it’s the fastest way gain entry.
