Schneider Electric's Craig Southwell passed away in Cowra on Monday May 7, 2012. He was 49 years of age and is survived by four children.
According to Schneider Electric staff, Craig was a greatly loved member of the team, appreciated by customers and even competitors.
Craig joined Schneider Electric in 2005 and held various roles supporting VSDs in both New Zealand and Australia. He was a Committee Member of the “Institute of Instrumentation Control and Automation” in NSW.
He was skilled in the area of variable speed drive systems and motor control, handling design and commissioning through to project management.
Craig was also a contributor to PACE magazine having written technical features on his area of specialty – VSDs.
Schneider Electric Vice President, Industry Business, Scott Woolridge said of his passing: "Craig always approached his work with a smile on his face. He was one of the first to roll up his sleeves and dive into the tasks at hand, no matter the obstacles that were placed in front of him.
"Craig was recognised early in the year as one of the top performers of the Schneider Industry Business for his motivation and passion to grow the Engineered Drives business and his overall commitment to the business."
