The new MEMS-based VSE vibration sensors from ifm efector help enhance diagnostics and monitoring of vibrations signals to deliver greater reliability in machining operations.
Diagnostics and monitoring of vibration signals are critical in the production environment to prevent scrap and protect machine components, tools and work-pieces against costly damage.
The extended functionality of ifm efector’s VSE line of vibration sensors provides an effective combination of condition monitoring, machine protection and process monitoring to minimise downtime.
It is now possible to connect accelerometers with IEPE interface as well as the range of MEMS-based VSE vibration sensors to all four dynamic channels. Additionally, it is also possible to connect common accelerometers, microphones or force sensors based on the IEPE standard. The newly improved history function enables the user to record over 600,000 time-stamped values allowing accurate recording over a considerably longer period of time.
Key features of VSE vibration sensors include wide range of filters for real-time indicators available for process monitoring; ability to select preset, e.g. high or low frequency bands; combination of filters possible; up to 32 counters supplying characteristic values, performance and runtime information; short reaction time of <1ms and variable alarm limits to optimise production and machine protection; and gateway via OPC enabling integration into higher systems and further transparency.
