Together with Honeywell, the US Ambassador and Consul General toured the company’s simulation system at the Challenger Institute of Technology’s ACEPT training facility.

The Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) is a government and industry funded facility that provides process operation training for the oil and gas, mineral and chemical processing industries in Australia.

Honeywell provided the US Ambassador and Consul General with an overview of its process control simulation system that lets trainees practice in virtual environments before progressing to ‘live’ environments – where their technology skills ensure the safe and efficient procedures of automation systems used to run the mining operations.

With a rapidly expanding mining, energy and resources industry taking place throughout Australia, the region and even globally, such training facilities and systems contribute to the sector’s long-term need for a highly-skilled workforce.
