High-speed connectivity for IIoT with LTE Cat 6 industrial router

NetComm Wireless has launched the 4G LTE Cat 6 Industrial IoT router with dual band WiFi (NTC-400) and cloud-based Remote Device Manager (RDM) platform.

The NTC-400 series is engineered to connect and manage some of the most bandwidth intensive industrial and in-vehicle IIoT applications, such as large-scale fleet tracking, surveillance and 4K/UHD digital displays.

Designed to control operational technology that performs critical functions in harsh industrial and vehicular environments, the robust NTC-400 series combines high speed 4G LTE data communications (300 Mbps) and a dual band WiFi access point with carrier-grade remote management and support for multiple LTE bands including band 28 (700 MHz).

NetComm Wireless’ fully featured RDM was launched in conjunction with the NTC-400 to accelerate time-to-market, deliver new revenue generating services and lower the total cost of ownership. The RDM enables the secure upgrade of firmware and applications to individual, groups or large-scale fleets of devices to facilitate extensive management, service provisioning, monitoring and data collection. The RDM supports TR-069 and OMA LWM2M standards, and enables real time monitoring, analytics, comprehensive reporting on failed connections and tasks, profile updates and inventory reports.

“Industrial applications are often mission critical, so failure is not an option. The NTC-400 Series is engineered to increase operational efficiencies and reduce some of the costly environmental and downtime risks that industrial IoT sectors deal with.

“NetComm Wireless has long been at the forefront of IIoT / M2M advances and it is pleasing to see how our new innovations translate into real world outcomes. The ATMs, vending machines and other pre-Internet industrial and commercial equipment that once used our dial-up modems to access small amounts of data can now stream the highest resolution video in real time, anywhere in the world.

“And our cloud based remote device management platform adds another level of efficiency with live visibility and smart network management at scale,” said Timo Brouwer, COO, NetComm Wireless.

The device seamlessly integrates into existing remote management platforms, and includes Gigabit Ethernet ports, a serial port, and a USB port for network flexibility.

To endure harsh industrial environments, the NTC-400 series features a robust metal enclosure and a wide temperature rating; and supports in-vehicle and tracking applications with integrated GPS that is compatible with all global systems. I/O ports allow users to read sensors or remotely control equipment such as lights, meters or pumps; and its ignition sense capability and wide input voltage range makes it ideal for vehicular applications
