Integrated engineering and services provider Thiess has received a Greenhouse Challenge Plus special commendation.
Minister for Environment and Water Resources Malcolm Turnbull said the award -which was accepted by Thiess chairman Martin Albrecht- recognised the company’s contribution to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Challenge Plus encourages Australian businesses to enter into a partnership with the Federal Government to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The program grew out of the Greenhouse Challenge program established in 1995. The “Plus” makes the program mandatory for those companies receiving tax fuel credits in excess of $3 million.
