The Government’s infrastructure spending and other public sector programs are continuing to boost demand for equipment and services in the transport, power and infrastructure sectors, according to an announcement from the Institute of Public Works Engineers NSW (IPWEA).
According to IPWEA, this support has begun to generate business confidence which has started to flow on to the private sector.
IPWEA’s Civenex expo manager, Frank Sticka, said that many suppliers of equipment and services had reviewed their strategy during 2009 and were now placing emphasis on ‘fine tuning’ their business by introducing new products, investing in staff skills, improving customer service and more carefully targeting promotional effort.
“Interest by suppliers and their markets in CIVENEX 2010 demonstrates the importance businesses are placing on face to face communication. To many, this event represents one of the cornerstones of their promotional strategy”, he said.
Civenex is a yearly infrastructure expo organised by IPWEA.
