The winners and runners-up for the 6th annual PACE Zenith Awards program will be revealed tonight at a dinner ceremony at Doltone House in Sydney from 6:30pm, with almost 200 engineers and industry professionals attending the event.
Fifty-four top-quality projects in nine different industries made the finals list this year, all of them gleaming examples of process control and automation technology installations in Australia and New Zealand.
The automation and process control industry is alive and well in Australia. Automation expenditure in the global process industries alone reached US$45.5 billion in 2007, and is forecasted to exceed US$61 billion by 2012 — that’s a 26 per cent growth in five years.
Australia and New Zealand continue to develop world-class technologies and deliver top-notch projects. The fact that we experience some of the harshest climates on the globe only strengthens our reserves and places us among the best the world has to offer. Our 54 finalists tonight are evidence of this.
Good luck to all our finalists, and also thank-you to our sponsors, without whom this awards program would not be the great success it is. Our sponsors for this year are: AMS Instrumentation & Calibration, Endress+Hauser, ifm efector, Mitsubishi Electric, Pilz Safe Automation, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, and Siemens Ltd.
The full winners list, along with the winner of the esteemed Project of the Year award, will be published in the July issue of PACE magazine, out at the beginning of July.
Good luck again to everyone involved, and we hope to see you tonight!
