Fuel efficient mobile crushing plant hits Australian shores

Tutt Bryant Equipment, exclusive Australian dealer of Metso’s Lokotrack mobile screening and crushing equipment, has launched the latest addition to the Lokotrack range.

The LT1213S is more productive and economical and is equally suited to the processing of both new aggregates and recycled material.

It can be configured with the screen as a closed loop machine or the return conveyor can be slewed to build a stockpile. The screen is also readily detached, allowing the LT1213S to be used as a straight crusher.

More economical

A number of elements have been combined to deliver a 15 per cent reduction in fuel consumption when compared to previous models, these include:
• Direct belt drive to the crusher
• Optimisation of the engine speed via a newly designed and more efficient hydraulic system
• Use of an independent demand-driven hydraulic drive fan
• Idle mode, which is activated when the feeder and crusher are empty and de-activated when material is placed in the feeder.

More productive

While there are modest improvements in crushing throughput via better flow, the most significant improvements are in screening capacity: generally the limiting factor in a combined crushing / screening operation.

Metso Lokotrak

The new Lokotrack LT1213S was unveiled at Tutt Bryant’s facility in Rocklea during the Queensland launch .

The machine’s 3600mm x 1600mm dual slope screen is 40% larger than the previous model and achieves a 20 – 30% greater throughput of finished product.

By addressing what is the limiting factor in a crusher / screen circuit, the practical output of the Lokotrack 1213S is significantly greater than that of its predecessor, setting it apart in its class.

More compact and self-contained

The new machine is designed to set-up, change configuration and pack up without the need for any assist equipment such as a crane, or for heavy manual handling. For remote areas, this can add up to significant savings in crewing requirements and crane hire.

All conveyors are stowed onboard the machine for transport. As demonstrated at the launch, the radial side conveyor can be slewed 90 degrees from the closed circuit position against the side of the machine to the stockpiling position in under two minutes.

The side conveyor also requires no assistance in setting up for operation or stowing for transport.

Easier to service

The LT1213S has a number of advances in serviceability. The polycarbonate cover over the crusher drive belts is significantly lighter than the previous steel cover, and can be readily opened and propped by one person.

The rotor cover has power opening and the rotor can be rotated hydraulically for replacing wear parts. An onboard jib facilitates handling breaker bars.

Onboard legs allow the screen unit to be lowered to the ground and removed for maintenance and for changing screen sizes.
