Fortior Global and Acumen PM to deliver risk assessment workshops in Australia

Fortior Global, an integrated project controls solution provider and Acumen PM, a provider of project analytics solutions, have extended their partnership to offer risk assessment workshops to the Australian market.

Fortior Global and Acumen first announced their partnership in May this year with Fortior Global committing to provide sales, professional service and technical support for the metric analysis tool, Acumen Fuse.

The extension to the partnership will now give Fortior Global’s clients access to the risk assessment workshops run by Dan Patterson, CEO of Acumen, and Jim Fairchild, managing director, Fortior Global.

Jim Fairchild said, “Good risk analysis is a fundamental part of project control and management and is not an area that is always done well. Even when cost estimates and schedules are put in place there is often nothing behind the schedule to back it up.

"Even the project managers who go as far implementing risk analysis often don’t consider the impacts of the risks or plan how to respond to them.

“Too often we find clients relying on senior project stakeholders who step in to resolve costly escalations and claims when what they need is a step by step process, like that offered by Acumen and Fortior.

"One that will allow them to manage the impact of uncertainty and risk on project schedules. Responses to risks need to be taken into consideration and when they occur they need to be linked back to the schedule.”

Dan Patterson, CEO, Acumen PM, said, “The process we use, S1 > S5, is a five step maturity level that we look at in the workshops. It goes from level one where the schedule has not been critiqued right through to level five where the whole team is engaged in building an optimised model.

"Most people we work with are at level two, a critiqued schedule without contingency or level three where they have a risk adjusted schedule in place and have calculated contingency. We are aiming to take them up level four with optimised target scenarios that reduce hotspots and then to level five to ensure they are managing risk in the most effective way.

"This partnership is a perfect evolution and match on top of the current Acumen Fuse software analytics partnership we already have with Fortior.

Fortior Global was created following the merger of three project controls solution providers, Primavera Australia, PCS and Project Management Solutions (Aust).
