A line of faulty AC/DC power sources made by The Lincoln Company were sold to customers, however all have now been reclaimed by the company, says the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
An undisclosed number of the affected Power Wave AC/DC 1000 power sources have all been returned to the company after contacting all customers involved.
The power sources were made by The Lincoln Electric Company, with part numbers: K2344-1 & K2344-2, and serial numbers U1080402618 and below.
The power source was sold locally between May 2006 and June 2008.
According to the ACCC, the potential failure of an auxiliary transformer leading to unintended application of voltage to the weld circuit caused the national recall.
“The Lincoln Electric Company (Australia) Pty Limited have contacted all end-users and located all of the affected units,” said the ACCC.
