F-35 Lightning boss visits Quickstep

U.S. Air
Force Lt. Gen. Chris Bogdan, the head of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program,
visited Quickstep’s Bankstown facilities this week.

Quickstep,
a manufacturer of high-tech composites, is a supplier of carbon-fibre skins and
sub-assemblies to the JSF program and will manufacture up to 21 different JSF
parts.

“I
was impressed with Quickstep’s manufacturing processes and technology, they appear
to be world class,” said Bogdan during Monday’s visit.

“The
technologies I saw have great potential to improve aerodynamic performance and help
to keep manufacturing costs down. Quickstep’s contributions to the F-35 program
are highly valued today and will be for years to come.”

Quickstep
recently announced sales of $3.7 million for the half-year to December.

The is
also a contract manufacturer of wingflaps for Lockheed Martin’s C-130J
Hercules, and last year licensed its Quickstep Process to a ORPE Technologiyain Russia.
